Plot Analysis of The Nun II:
TARASCON, FRANCE(1956)
We see a church that a father is maintaining and a little boy lives with him. One day the little boy feels a presence under the basement. An invisible entity reports its presence. Father asks it to leave but it burns him alive.
Sister Irene talks with the mother about sister Debra for not giving a confession. Maybe she did something bad but she agrees when Irene approaches her. They share a good bond as we can see they are talking out their stories. Irene’s father sent her here because he didn’t like her for having resemblance with her mother.
There is a school in France where we meet with Maurice, Kate and Sophie. Sophie admires Maurice and has a brotherly bond with him but other girls used to mock them. One day, when the delivery girl comes to deliver products, she watches Maurice having a seizure. And there is a demonic presence too that haunts her out of the house. Wait! This demon is a nun! Isn’t she that nun whom the sisters were talking about?
Irene wakes up and someone says she has a visitor. She sees a demonic Maurice but fortunately that is a dream. When she finally wakes up, her nose bleeds. In the morning, Father meets her and let her know about a series of murder that happened in different cities in west Europe.
A 90 year old nun shot herself in Hungary. A priest cut his throat with a rosary in Austria. A novitate threw herself out a window in Italy. Lastly, in Tarascon, France, another priest got murdered inside his church. Father wants her to investigate the matter because she is the only one left who survived a miracle.
Sister Debra joins her as she wants to believe in miracles. Irene says what they do in churches are just acts of faith. Wine will be the blood of god if she believes in it. They reach Tarascan, France. She gets to know about a boy who witnessed the incident.
The bully seniors get Sophie stuck in a room and Maurice saves her. Sophie sees a demonic figure dressed like a nun but she tells none, even not to Maurice. Irene gets to know that not only Jacques, a handyman also left the day after the immolation happened. He came from Romania and he was a world traveler. Within a second, Irene understands he is none other than Maurice. Last time he saved her in Romania then he went to Hungary that indicates its started from him.
Kate comes to Maurice to express gratitude as he saved Sophie. He asks why the chapel is always closed. The chapel is closed because Madam’s son died in that room during the bombing. Sophie is noticing Maurice from the window and suddenly he stares upward. She follows Kate but ends up confronting a demon. When Kate really calls her, she gets back her consciousness.
On the other hand, Irene finds Jacques when she goes to fix the reservation. She can’t make him stop but notices some paranormal acts making a nun’s figure. She faints and Debra rescues her. The head Madam is praying and she suddenly hears something that is coming from the chapel. She finds Maurice there trying to open it. When he is asked why he is doing it. He replies he doesn’t even know why he is here. Madam feels like her son Cedric is there, she enters the chapel and unfortunately gets killed by Cedric, possessed by the demon.
Irene tells about some ancient relic that the demon is looking for, after waking up. Jacques sends her the rosary of the Tarascon father. She meets an old friend of hers in the Catholic Archive. He says it’s a family crest which belongs to the descendants of Saint Lucy of Syracuse. She was killed by pagans. These victims are her descendants.
Sister Irene holds some power, inherited from her mother. She sees Saint Lucy without her eyes and she understands what the demon wants. The librarian says the demon once was an angel rejected by god. Now she wants her power back and for that it needs the eyes. It is buried in an old wine warehouse and a monastery which is now a boarding school.
When they arrive at the school, they meet Kate, Sophie and Maurice. Maurice turns into a monster but sister Debra faints him and ties him up. They go to the chapel and Sophie shows the devil’s eyes which lights up when gets sunrays. Debra torches over it and it shows the hidden chamber where the eyes are kept. They shovel it and find the relic. Suddenly Sophie notices the devil is not there.
Debra finds the girls who are afraid of hearing some sounds upstairs. Debra joins them seeing the devil is after them. They hide in a small room. One of the girls tries to get in the Madam’s room but she is already there to attack them. They escape the place. On the other hand, Sophie escapes with the relic when Maurice chases her fainting Irene.
Sophie climbs up the monastery. Maurice tries to persuade her but she eventually hands over the relic to Irene successfully. She hinders Maurice using the power of the relic but the demon took it from her deceiving her. In opposition, Kate with her girls keeps fighting with the devil.
Ending Explained The Nun II:
The man from the Catholic Archive said father buried the eyes somewhere within a monastery. Saint Mary’s Aix-en-provence.
When Irene thinks she finally defeats the demon of Saint Carta. That thing catches overpowers her and takes the relic. It almost burns Irene but her mother channels her power and saves her.
They notice they are in a wine warehouse. Surrounding is full of wine. When Maurice is almost getting over Sophie, Irene and Debra perform an amazing exorcism. Saint Lucy was the saint of the Blind, pagans lit her up on fire. She didn’t burn and saved her descendants. This demon killed everyone who got their family crest because their mother is dead. Now the rosary is with them so Irene can channel her mother’s power through her eyes. She thinks about her mom and says Amen.
At that moment, the wine splashes over the demon and burns her up. Maurice gets emancipation from possession and Irene leaves the school.
