Plot Analysis of Brick 2005:

Emily is in danger. Brendon doesn’t care but he at least wants to know she is okay. Emily tells him she is in danger because of the person she is with now. Brendon asks Brain who she has been with. Emily has been poking in with the Ivy-bound cheerleading elite, Laura Dannon’s crowd and Brad Bramish.
She tagged after them for a bit but it didn’t work out. She picked her way down the food chain. Last Brain saw, she was with the drama vamp. Small time dealer, the evil one. The one Brendon dated, Kara. Her locker number is 269. He rummages through the locker and finds some torn out photos.
Kara can’t give him information so he goes to the green room to check through and finds the same picture pinned on the wall with a phone number. He dials there and talks like he knows them. Laura speaks and tells him the location when he takes Emily Kostich’s name.
15 Busch Street, in Stockton Cove.
We clearly understand Brad isn’t happy seeing Brendon here. He roams around a lil’ bit hoping to see Laura and Laura finds him. Brendon clearly approaches his intention to come here. Emily has been missing for a good month. Nobody has seen her.
Brendon knows this isn’t true when he saw her yesterday. She says confidently he is scratching at the wrong door. If she hasn’t got her finger into Emily’s then why Emily’s name got him into her rather exclusive party. She indicates he is curious about her but Brendon denies that. Laura utters ‘Coffee and pie’.

Brendon goes to Coffee and Pie and asks for Dode. He appears with a funky attitude like he doesn’t care about Brendon. After getting beaten up a little, he confesses Emily is with him. She was drunk when she called him. She told Dode to threaten Brendon if he came by.
Brendon wants to see Emily and wants to hear it straight from her mouth. He follows Dode secretly and sees Dode hugging Emily. He gets a little pissed off but still wants to see Emily. Next day, he finds Emily and she wants him to stay away from her. That’s how he can help her out. Brendon asks who taught her that line.
She couldn’t stand it. She had to get with people. She couldn’t handle life with Brendon anymore. But she bursts into tears afterwards. Brendon understands something is terribly wrong, happening with Emily. She needs to be protected. He tells her to come back to him, he will deal with the rest but she leaves.
Emily gives him a note pad where he finds a piece of paper, ‘midnight’ is written on it. He goes to Brain, he says it didn’t come straight from Dode unless he is playing out of his league. When the upper class people do unlawful acts, they use codes. It might be that kind of code.
Next day, he finds Emily dead under the tunnel. He chases someone whose face isn’t revealed. After he tells Brain he is gonna find out who is behind the crime. ‘The Pin’ is the codename for the main culprit. He goes to Kara but she isn’t any help. He finds Brad Bramish bragging about himself. He beats him and teaches him a lesson because he always downs him whenever he finds a chance.

Then he got Tugger to beat him up, which leads him to the principal who says he is gonna help him. He was about to hit Tugger’s car but he sees it and refrains him from doing it. He beats him again and again but he keeps determined to his mission of finding ‘The Pin’. Tugger doesn’t usually do that but surprisingly he takes him to ‘the pin’.
He wises up The Pin that he is gonna tell the street address of this area to the principal. Tug strangles him tightly and locks in a room. Pin comes and tells about knowing Brendon. He has known him from Laura. Brendon goes upstairs to tell his intention but wants Tug away from here.
Brendon lets him know he wants to work for him. Pin doesn’t believe it but wants to get rid of him for now so he lets him go. Laura is waiting outside for him and asks if he trusts her now. Brendon trusts her now a little more than ago. He wants to know her angle in all of these. She brings Emily’s name. She tried to get with Brad and Laura about three months ago.
But it didn’t work. When she left, she took some souvenirs with her. Old habit, she couldn’t resist. Next she heard, Emily was having a rough situation Pin. That’s all came down to her head. Emily scraped the junk off the Pin.
Laura expresses her desire for him and it frightens Brendon. He goes to Kara to get to know about Dode. She tries to take his attention to a different direction but its Brendon. He has strong self-control. Brendon needs to hear Dode’s tale about Emily. It’s important.
The sooner he will hear the truth from Dode, the safer they both will be. Brendon discuss it with Brain. Dode passed the note to Emily, so he knows something. He tells Brain to stay away from Laura. Next day, he finds a note in his locker which leads him to a furious man from Pin’s. He comes to kill him.

But Brendon defeats him and gets his identity. He is Chuck Burns. Long haired lug, deals, shines a blade. Brain knows him. A car parks near Brendon and he gets in. He tells Brain if he doesn’t return, call in the bull. Pin gives him his first assignment.
Dode calls Brendon to say to him that he saw him hiding the dead body. If he tells anyone, it would ruin him. At 6 o’clock, he has some talks with Pin. He is suspecting Tug for betraying him as he didn’t tell him to beat Brendon. Laura gives a note to Brain to tell Brendon to meet at Pin’s office. Tug attacks him asking why he is there.
He tells him the truth. Pin’s not telling him straight that makes him nervous. Tug leaves him to tell him the truth, he tells him about the heroin bricks. Pin had ten bricks of heroin, eight had been sold, and the ninth was stolen by Emily and returned contaminated. Brendon tells him about Emily Kostich. Tug acts like he doesn’t know Emily.
Pin comes to tell someone has something to tell about Emily. Dode comes to Brendon to tell Emily was pregnant. He loved her and he was gonna love that kid. Brendon gets stunned hearing this. He feels so sick. They all meet in the tunnel where Emily’s dead body was found. Dode tells them about Emily’s pregnancy. He demands money in exchange for revealing who killed Emily.
Tug kills Dode before he tells. Brendon faints coughing. Tug brings him to their folks. Tug confesses Emily told him she was pregnant. Brendon says to Pin, Tug is trustworthy, he just panicked because Pin thought he killed Emily. He offers a mutual agreement session before getting into a war.

Brendon keeps Emily’s dead body behind Tug’s car so that he gets punishment for his deed and puts the ninth brick to Laura’s locker. Brendon meets Laura.
