Plot Analysis Nicolas Cage Mandy 2018:
The Shadow Mountains:
Red lives near Shadow Mountain, works as a lumberjack. He lives with his girlfriend Mandy Blood who is an artist and works in a gas station. Red returns to his love Mandy after work.
Mandy is painting a beautiful art where a girl is flaunting her beauty. The way Red speaks to Mandy shows his intense love for her. At night, when Red asks what her favourite planet is. She replies that Jupiter because the surface of its atmosphere is a storm that has been raging for like 1000 years. The eye of the hurricane is so huge that it could just swallow the whole earth.
They both ride on a boat and at night when Mandy swims in the river and resurfaces herself, Red stares passionately at her. The movie reveals Mandy’s face from a close angle, she is so beautiful. Next morning, Mandy hears a grouse. She checks the woods deep inside. She finds the dead body of an animal. A drop of tears falls on the ground. It reveals the soft, impulsive Mandy.
At night both are lying on a cosy sofa. Red is thinking about moving away from this place but Mandy likes it here. She tells a story from her childhood.
When she was too young, there were a bunch of starlings flying, chirping upon the sky. But her father hates them because they used to eat cherries. One day he comes along with a cage full of Starlings and he told them to kill যতটা পারা যায়। She flew from seeing this kind of inhumanity. After hearing the story, Red hugs her like a poor baby.
One day Mandy is reading a book named ‘Seekers of the Serpent’s Eye’.
‘Under the crimson, primordial sky…………..Slowly he withdrew it and held it before him in the fading fading light of the blood red sun……strange and eternal.’
These lines are conveying some kind of ominous message.
That evening Many is walking along a road through the woods. Suddenly she sees a car coming towards her. She doesn’t know why but she is feeling ominous. If you see the car people, you will feel the same. They are hoods.
Children of the New Dawn:
The name of the leader of the team is Jeremiah. He is cruel and disgusting. Her wife is so loyal to him but he doesn’t give a shit about that useless loyalty instead he demands Mandy. When the car was passing her, he saw her and desired her. Jeremiah calls his brother Swan.
It’s a devil worshipper gang who use the Horn of Abraxas. Swan uses it to summon the black skulls, a demonic biker gang. Swan, Jeremiah plan to gang rape and kill Mandy. He imposes the responsibility to that white hair lady to know Mandy’s address until he uses her sister Lucy to fill his insatiable lust. The blonde lady goes to the gas station and finds her address so easily.
Swan calls the biker gang and gives them blood to drink but they want more. Swan wants the work done first.
They take those cruel men to the crystal lake. Mandy and Red were eating and watching television, leading a pretty normal life. At night, when they are asleep, demons take them to their destination.
The blonde lady tells Mandy that her husband will be fine if they do what they are told. That old lady slaps her out of rage. She drops something like eye drop onto her eye and stings her a modest amount of scorpion poison. Scorpions make people numb.
That bitch takes her to the room where all of them are waiting. Jeremiah tells,
‘When I was at the bottom of the pit, screaming in the darkness, racked with unspeakable pain for having been denied all that was rightfully mine….
Then the devil graced him with the light….’
Now Jeremiah is making her hear the importance of being devilish. He says he has been blessed to know the comforts of many women but not all have her radiance. She is special and he thinks of himself as a special one too.
Mandy asks if he made this song and if it is about him. He replies positively but Mandy starts laughing. Seeing that he starts to jerk him off and tells her to shut up. But she starts to laugh like a maniac. Every other person in that room is observing this helpless condition of Jeremiah. He tells everyone angrily not to look at him and starts crying.
On the other hand the hoods beat Red a lot. Jeremiah stands upon the mirror and cries like a little child who didn’t get whatever he wanted. Such a cowardly man. He then decides to kill her. The two cruel brothers come with Lucy to Red who is tied up. Swan says,
‘See…the worthless piece of human excrement.
This is the tainted blade of the pale knight straight from the abyssal layer.’
They sack her and burn her alive, hanging her in front of Red. Everyone’s face turns into the devil’s face. That was disgusting to look at. Before burning her Jeremiah pushes the tainted knife into Red’s paunch so that he dies slowly losing a lot of blood. Then they part ways leaving behind the cinder of Mandy and an wounded lover. But they don’t even know they have called their death.
Red bleeds a lot so his hands get slicky and he unties her hands. He cries a lot sitting near his love. He comes back and takes a lot of alcohol to relax. He cries his heart out. Then he visits one of his old friends. He takes a gun and some special weapon made by his friend.
He gives them on one condition. It has to be used in good terms. Red sits like a weak man and tells his sad story to him. He says some weird hippies, crazy evils lit her up.
Friend understands they are black skulls. Something dark and fearsome out there. No one knows where they come from. There are stories like dead bodies being found here and there. Friend shares a story about those human shaped animals.
They were living in a world full of pain. Once upon a time a manufacturer of LSD cooked them a special batch. After that no one had seen them in the right head. But what Red has, is not enough for killing them. But Red says to be positive and we can see that Mandy’s soul is rising to help Red.
Red melts iron and makes something special with iron and shoots those black skulls. The black skulls get hurt but don’t die. They catch him and tie him in their den. He somehow manages to drop one of them and searches for another one.
The other one is watching bad things and inhaling drugs. Red tries to attack him without making him know that he is here but on the tv screen, he is seen. So he gets caught but as he wears a bullet proof jacket, his knife has not cut him on the contrary he has been dead.
Red inhales a slight drug as a celebration of victory. Now the rest of the work is very easy. He collects some important things which he will need. Some weapons, his iron made special one and he finds a jar of cinder looking things. He touches and tastes it, and suddenly his skin burns a little and it gives him some power.
He gets out and the other one is waiting outside. Again he tries to hit from the back noiselessly but fails. They fight viciously and at the last he throws him into fire and the fire kills him.
Red gets so furious that he separates his skull from his head. Then he lights up a fallen cigarette and he takes one of their bikes and takes himself to a fortune teller who can read faces and can tell how they wronged him. He has a tiger named Lizzie. Lizzie says that those bastards went to the north.
Ending Explained Mandy 2018:
Red continues to go north but in the middle of his peregrination, he stops where Mandy was burnt. Red lies there and thinks about Mandy. We see the soul of Mandy who is waking up the beast inside him.
At dawn he notices he is there where he wanted to be. Maybe Mandy’s soul is helping him to find out. He attacks Swan and that iron axe enters into his mouth and pressures it and the blood slops out. He spares the poor girl Lucy. Then he throws the axe towards that slim bastard and he is dead. Then he goes to that disgusting hell looking shit who was laughing at the time of burning Mandy.
He finds a chainsaw and tries to start it but it doesn’t start. But that cruel gets a long chainsaw but eventually he loses the fight and Red suffocates him with a chain and pulls him. That action makes that ‘Hell’ having the chainsaw enter his stomach.
Then he cuts the throat of that ugly bitch who tells them their location to Jeremiah. He enters the den of Jeremiah and throws the head to him. He starts his ugly drama to save himself but ultimately gets his head smashed by Red.
After all the fights, Red finally removes his wrath and sees Mandy smiling at him. It means Mandy’s soul is resting in peace now.
Best Scenes in Mandy 2018 explained:
I would love to share some of my favourite parts. In the beginning, the planet talk really made me emotional and astounded. Red loves to talk about her favourites even after a hectic day. Mandy loves Jupiter because the eye of the hurricane storm that has been raging like a thousand years, is so huge that it can swallow the whole earth.
Mandy is such a character who can love Jupiter for raging and again she can cry for a dead wild animal. We can be sad, can be unhappy, our heart can rage like a Jupiter but that’s not making us. What we choose to be makes us as a human being.

The cowardly slave of the devil, Jeremiah…
Devil worshippers are bastards according to characteristics. They allow those people around them who are totally bound and loyal to them. Because docile people will do everything they are told. We can see the examples here.
First he tells that old woman to find her trace, she does that. Later he tells Lucy to kill herself with the gun, she is gonna do that. He does it to show Red, girls love him more. Only cowards usually try to win like that. They don’t know the difference between wanting to die for love and wanting to die out of fear.
Jeremiah sold his soul to the Devil…
Satan deceives people who are in pain, vulnerable, greedy. Because the devil can enter those bodies and deceive them. They show them wealth, health, career, whatever a human being wants to achieve. The Devil gives them assurance of giving whatever they need. In exchange, the devil takes lives using his slaves.
The reason why Mandy’s laughter made Jeremiah furious…
Jeremiah plays a song when Mandy was taken into the room. That song was written about him where it said Jeremiah was a righteous man. Righteous means the people who follow the right path. But Jeremiah and his gang were totally opposite of the concept of righteousness. She was a little bit numb but still could sense the difference of right or wrong. That’s why she starts laughing.
The message it conveys…
I want to thank Panos Cosmatos because he made this film and gives us a lot of good messages. He portrays goodness and badness both here. Devils make people their slave for their own benefit and do all the harms. People who sell their soul to the devil can never be happy and they make their surrounding a hell.
On the other hand goodness always wins.
We have to save people like Mandy and destroy the devils so that the lovers like Red never lose their loved ones.
