‘The Diary(El Diario) 2024’ Story Reveal:
Olga has shifted to a new house after having divorce with Victor. Vera is her eight years old little child recently having counselling therapy sessions with psychologist Carlos as she stabbed a dog to death.
Olga finds a chest in the attic of the house. The previous owner must have forgotten it and when they realise, they will want it back. Victor is here to pick his daughter Vera but she is having problems getting along with her dad’s girlfriend Mariana.
After they leave she experiences a high frequency sound that cringes her for some time. She goes near the chest again, that chest holds a diary where there is noted some death descriptions and time. She puts it away from home but when she returns, finds the chest back to its position.
Victor calls, says that Vera was making lunch with Mariana, suddenly she had her hand in a deep cut. Olga asks Mariana to tell what really happened. She was about to start cooking, Vera was insisting on cutting the onion so she took it to a drawer. She opened the fridge door and when she turned Vera already cut herself.
It seems to Olga that Vera purposely did it to frame Mariana. Olga makes an excuse not to take Vera with her until she fixes the issue. At home, Olga meets Carlos to solve the ongoing issue and that is about the chest.
Olga starts hallucinating Chemical elements, hospital beds in the attic.
The Mysterious Chest; The Diary(El Diario) 2024:
Carlos starts reading the diary. Martin Munoz Araujo, the victim of this journal. Olga searches online, finds nothing as if the victims never existed.
Olga at first doesn’t want to believe this man really killed those people but Carlos thinks this diary holds too many details to be a fantasy. He wants to show the diary to a trustworthy friend who is a graphologist. If they identify the author, they will know what to do. Calligraphy has a power to uncover subtle details.
Graphologist’s Observation in The Diary(El Diario) 2024:
Alicia, Emmanual would already be dead but Martin hasn’t been killed yet, he had begun to be tortured. But there is another victim yet, it might be someone from their distant past.
This killer is a woman who is totally obsessed with suffering. She is about 40 years old, lives a discreet life, full of restraint but perfectly adjusted to society. She appears to be normal but she isn’t. This journal is the most honest version of who she really is.
Professor can’t find out her identity but some features are unleashed. She is a woman with a motor disability like she holds a pen in a little peculiar way. These characteristics are recent. This has just been written. Carlos and Olga just fell from the sky!!!
Olga can’t accept the fact that she is living in a killer’s house. Having a shower, she senses someone’s footsteps in her house, a woman entering her bedroom. Olga tiptoes there and that woman flinches. That makes her immediately leave the room.
She explains to Carlos how she saw her but he can’t understand how that is possible. Olga decides to search for Martin Munoz.
The story takes an incredible turn!
Martin Munoz is just a six years old child!! Olga calculates it intellectually. The diary says Martin Munoz is 32 years old while he is going through the torture. If Munoz is six years old then the killer is learning how to write!
One morning Vera is drawing something and the doorbell rings. Victor is here with a gift from Mariana and him. Do you guys know what the gift is? It is a chest looking exactly like the killer’s chest.
It is clear to Olga that Vera is the future killer. She shows her the chest to determine if she remembers anything but that doesn’t help. It absorbs Olga in great depression. How does she turn into a killer? Carlos says the Vera I’m seeing in therapy isn’t this woman. It is good that they know this, they will be able to help her recover her agony.
They meet the Professor, she says the first person she killed was an adult close to her but that was an accidental death. The incident that triggered her sadistic behaviour, was an attempt that someone made to kill her!!
At a family function, Olga notices Vera is frequently looking at Mariana, which makes her remember that Mariana’s earring was in the chest along with other belongings of Vera. So Mariana will be the first victim!
‘What do I have to do to not go back to that house?’
Olga goes to the attic and calls Vera saying she wants to help her, she needs to know what happened. Immediately the belongings disappear from the chest and the adult Vera attacks little Vera. Olga saves her by breaking in.
Olga gives her all the time to Vera, she stops taking her to school or therapist or even in Victor’s house. So one morning Victor and Carlos both approach her home. Victor, who came to know why she isn’t allowing him to see Vera, angrily leaves seeing Carlos there.
Carlos says Olga should let Vera see her dad, she is isolating Vera from the world and it is also dangerous. Vera is only safe with Olga but Mariana’s isn’t mentioned anywhere in the journal, Carlos implies. At that time, Victor takes Vera to his home, threatening Olga with two police officers.
The diary says the day that changed Vera’s life was the shaking. Olga thinks taking away Vera from her mom is the shaking. After some time the earthquake happens. Olga realises this is the shaking the diary talks about. Today Olga is gonna lose her daughter.
Carlos and Olga set off for Victor’s where Vera is sitting with scissors to kill Mariana but she can’t kill her, the scissors move down. Victor and Mariana wake up. Victor asks her what she was doing with the scissors. She tells him she wants to go with mommy to see the aquarium. Victor tells that’s not gonna happen. Vera pushes him hard and he falls to death right away.
Police arrive but Olga gets her in the car avoiding everyone’s eyes. In the middle of the road, Olga realises Vera has no repentance, no grief as she has just killed her dad. Olga commits suicide by increasing car’s speed but Vera survives the accident and in the hospital when Olga gets her consciousness, Vera asks,
‘Did you try to kill me, mommy?’
How are Olga and Carlos seeing the chest from the future?
The chest is cursed. Nature gives Olga a chance to change the future. The chest doesn’t hold the evidence of these murders that’s why it shows up not to be cursed in the future.
