Alone 2020 Plot Analysis:
Jessica, a widow, is shifting to another place. On her trip, she survives an accident from a close encounter. A black car is following her for a few while. She takes another road and that car loses her.
She runs out of fuel. Being stopped by a fuel station, she calls her dad. They were supposed to help her, coming over to her house but she left without letting them know. Meanwhile she notices that black car is at that station. She tells her dad she is 300 miles away. She reaches a motel to stay over a night there and cries over her dead husband watching their old photos.
In the morning, she encounters that man with the black car. He apologises for having passed her like he is following her who was actually not following her. She accepts his apology but remains doubtful inside. Then she heads for the north. In the middle of the road, she encounters that man again. His engine just died on him. He tells her to give a ride to the next gas station but she wants to check on the GPS to find the number of the next gas station. When he persists to get help from her, she avoids him saying she is late for a meeting.
She stops at a car parking station, it’s night here. She smokes while talking with her mom. Her mom is worried about her loneliness that she has chosen for her and tells about going to a therapist. It’s a bad idea, leaving behind all friends and family. Suddenly that black car comes again, she gets in her car hurriedly. That black car is still following her. She reaches out to 911, but can’t tell them the location, instantly that car passes her abruptly leaving her confused. She tells them it’s a false alarm.
The River:
Her car loses control and leans over out of the road. He finds someone left a cut over a wheel of the tow truck. She expels the tow truck from her car and tries to move it on the road. Guess what? That black car reaches there. He hits the car with a bat and locks her into a congested room. Waking up, Jessica requests him to release her, even, she wants to give him money but he isn’t bothered. He shows her videos of them together and talks about her husband’s death who killed himself.
He does it to weaken her mentally. He tells her to take off her clothes but she looks forward to escaping but it turns out to be a stupid activity. He hits her and locks her again. She pulls out a nail from the wall and pushes the key to her jacket. The key makes him easily leave the house. She runs like crazy to be freed. Her leg gets impaled by a tree root but still she manages to reach the river. He almost gets her when she is on the edge of the mountain river. Lastly, she jumps off.
The Rain:
Consuming a lot of water, she made it to reach safely on another bank of the river where he hasn’t reached yet. She meets with a man with a gun called Robert and seeks help from him. He is a good man lost in the woods just like her. He gives her boots and drives her through the woods. Instantly there is a tree fallen horizontally on the road. That black car arrives and tries to make Robert confused saying she is her sister who escaped from the house, her husband killed himself so she is not stable.
Jessica denies everything with rage and tells Robert to take his phone to call the police. When Robert wants his phone, he punches him hard and shoots him in the head. Jessica escapes and it starts raining in the forest. Since the night is coming slowly to the forest, it would not be easy for him to find her.
The Night:
The man and Jessica are now playing hide and seek in the deep forest with a heavy rain. She gets shot but still manages to hide herself. He tries to intrigue her and says she will bleed to death within a few moments and after that her body will start rotting. She can’t be a coward like her husband. People who think about suicide, they must reach out for help. Maybe he wanted to tell her something. He provokes her to come out and fight. He gives her one minute to think wisely and take the gun resting on the ground.

He keeps intriguing her for coming out calling her husband a coward but it doesn’t work. He leaves the place and we keep waiting for dawn.
Alone 2020 Ending Explained:
The Clearing:
In the morning, she wakes up in the jungle. Forwarding a little far, finds that psycho, keeping Robert’s dead body in the trunk of the Jeep. He steps aside to grave that body. Meanwhile, she gets in the car and hides herself taking the phone. Getting in the car, he kind of senses something fishy but doesn’t understand what is bothering him. He keeps going and looks around but nothing unusual attracts.
Suddenly he can’t find his phone and Jessica attacks her. She hits him frequently and the car gets inverted, losing its balance. She comes out of the car, badly injured but pulls herself together to lift up her body. That man comes out too. Jessica plays a trick to startle that man. She asks his wife if she knows where her husband is. She knows he is on a business trip in California.
Jessica reveals his true colours saying he is a murderer who kidnaps girls and tortures them locking them in a cellar. The man jumps off on her out of rage. After a crazy fight, at last she impales that hockey stick into his heart. At that moment, the police come in a helicopter to rescue her.
The man suffers from ‘Sadistic Personality Disorder’. People who unnecessarily scares people, hurt them and kill them.

When people can sense the danger is in front of her playing with her pretending to be innocent. They get fearful but don’t want them to understand. But the predator catches the fear looking at their eyes. The eyes always tell the truth.

Jessica, whose husband killed himself, wanted to be alone, being away from the friends and families. But eventually ends up in a locked room with a psychopath. That psycho provoked her telling her husband a coward to come out when she hid herself in the jungle.
